Maggie and Nick TEDx talk about Hear Here! at the Empire Arts Center in Grand Forks, ND
Hear Here! will create space for a community of composer/musicians and choreographer/dancers to fuse the music and dance worlds and create work built organically every step of the way, share insights into the process, document this process and present a public performance of the work at the Hear Here! Informal showing. This public performance will pave the way to a larger festival for the summer of 2016.
Project Goal #1 – Create a community of composer/performers and choreographer/dancers that will push and support each other to create new interdisciplinary work.
Indicators of success:
-
Creation of five new 15 minute works.
-
Recorded documentation of process and dialogue during community rehearsals and public performance for archival and online posting purposes.
Project Goal #2 - Connecting and engaging music and dance community audiences through open rehearsals and the Hear Here! Festival public performance and the Hear Here! website.
Indicators of success:
-
Audience attendance (100) at the Hear Here! informal showing at SPCPA's Lab Theater in Saint Paul in July 18, 2015.
-
Active participation (500 comments) in an online conversation on the Hear Here! website.
